"They are indeed an odd duo Oak Cliff native and pop-folkie Edie Brickell along with five-string banjo picker extraordinaire Steve Martin. But that should only make for a compelling album. Brickell and Martin have teamed up for Love Has Come for You, a 13-song effort to be released April 23 on Rounder Records.
The disc has awesomeness written all over it. Its produced by revered studio man Peter Asher (James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Elvis Costello) and features guest appearances by Esperanza Spalding, Waddy Wachtel and Nickel Creek alums Sara and Sean Watkins. Martin has said that he had a spare, evocative banjo in mind when he and Brickell were writing the songs, which includes titles such as When You Get to Asheville, Sarah Jane and the Iron Mountain Baby, Remember Me This Way and Fighter.
Oh and how can we forget the work of the Steep Canyon Rangers, who are also on the album. Martin and the Rangers are old buds. They have toured extensively together as well as recorded the Grammy-nominated Rare Bird Alert from 2011. Martin, a veteran of comedy albums, switched gears with his 2009 banjo debut The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo.
Brickell rose to fame with 1988?s Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars, her 2-million-selling album with the New Bohemians that spawned the Top 10 pop hit, What I Am. She has recorded several other projects with the New Bohemians, solo, with the Heavy Circles (including stepson Harper Simon), and with the Gaddabouts. "

That was a very relaxed concert. Cool
