Anyone use an unlocked iphone with T-Mobile?

Thinking about using my hand-me-down iphone with my T-Mobile service. I like their cheaper prices, but not sure how the iphone would work. I currently have a cheap old phone from them that is not user friendly and I curse it everytime I use it. The iphone I have is an old AT&T one and I use it to surf the net when I'm out and about and have access to wi-fi.

Why T-Mobile? I think you can modify to use any wifi hotspot. NYC_SKP Dec 2012 #1

I have one. My data can be a bit slow, but is not generally a problem LeftyMom Dec 2012 #4

IT WORKS!

It works without a plan, just on my WiFi!

Sweet!

Now, are you asking if you can set it up to also send and receive calls then the answer is no.

If you want to make calls AND you want to use T-Mobile as your provider, then I probably misunderstood your question.

Good luck, let me know how it goes.

Yes, I want to set it up to send and receive calls by putting my T-Mobile sim card in the iphone. T-Mobile is updating their cell towers, but not all are finished yet. If I do use the iphone in an area that hasn't been updated, how slow will my service be?
That way, I still pay a cheaper price than using AT&T.

I do try to remember to do big downloads when I have access to wifi to get around the problem, but that's a fairly minor concession considering what I save over a comparable plan with AT&T.
