I'm terrified of water, so showers are, well, "interesting". I also trigger on strong smells so I need a shampoo that I can tolerate the smell of. Currently it's watermelon.

It's not easy to find a shampoo that doesn't bother me, and that I can afford.

For the past several years I've been using Trader Joe's Nourish shampoo. Now they'll probably discontinue it and I'll have to start the search again.

My stylist told me to use Tea Tree shampoo that doesn't have sulfates in it. I noticed a big difference in hair texture--not so frizzy.

Rosemary rinse, with a little cinnamon and vanilla for aroma, and baking soda. Cheap and effective.

If your hair is less than four inches long a quart of salon-quality shampoo should last somewhere between a year and 18 months because a glob the size of a nickel is all you need.

I don't know how women choose a shampoo.

I don't know how women choose a man.

Maybe I don't understand your OP. But it's an interesting topic.
