Merry Christmas

and thank you for that wonderful piece. I love classical music.

This evening I was thinking back to a Christmas long ago, when I was in first grade in the 1950s. My dad was in the Air Force and stationed to Bitburg, Germany so we had to move overseas. My first grade teacher at the Air Force base school (Miss Ewing) got it into her head to expose us to German culture for Christmas. She brought in recordings of German children's choirs singing German Christmas carols and she got a school janitor, a German lady, to come into the classroom to teach us how to pronounce the words. The recordings were really beautiful songs (German children's choirs are renowned for their carols) and we had to learn these two in German to present to our parents at a school Christmas show. I remember it almost like yesterday.
