The German Shepard is pretty tolerant, but not all dogs are that tolerant. It isn't anything I would allow to take place in my home. It just would not be worth the risk to get an America's Funniest Video entry.

They are lucky that dog is not more possessive of his dog food. That is an accident waiting to happen. I love dogs, and dogs rule in my house, but I would never let a child near a dog bowl while the dog was eating.

incredibly sweet and tolerant dogs, but even they had their moments (usually defending themselves) and I have the scars to prove it.

I'm a parent to children and pets. It's the dog's feeding time; let him eat dammit!

Would the parents let the dog steal the child's food? I doubt it.

I love dogs. I love Shepherds. But the best dog can snap over competition and that baby's vulnerable. Not to mention he's playing in dog spit, which I know isn't toxic but it's still kind of gross.

You're safest if you are the animal's master and this dog is apparently smart enough to know the baby means no harm and is okay, but it's still an animal that can be dangerous and snap in certain situations.
