There's Kansas City, MO and Kansas City, KS. Now, if you don't specify which, how is anyone supposed
to know which one you are referring to?
Or is the difference in size that great? I mean, is KC MO so much bigger that it couldn't possibly be mistaken for KC KS?

(27,247 posts)It's supposed to be set in southwest Oklahoma (territory), but the terrain in the movie is way too rugged.

Of course, I was just a kid.

It is all the same except for politics. And there are so many suburb cities it gets confusing when you want to be specific. For instance my mailing address was Shawnee Mission, Kansas, but I lived in Mission Hills and went to the Prairie (Village) school district. Missouri was only one long block away.
And I forgot: I was born in Missouri (the hospital was there) but I never lived in Missouri.
I just say Kansas City.

And Cairo is just across the river in Illinois.

(28,799 posts)probably others as well. years ago before there was internet, i sent a letter to my sister and forgot to add the state on the envelope. she got it two or three weeks later after it had been to about every other Harrison in the country. when she got it she saw written on the envelope by the post office, "Try Idaho."
