1. That reminds me of a commercial...

for "Beggin' Strips" dog treats that used to see in the 90s.
This one:

I thought the commercial was funny, but that the tagline "Dogs don't know it's not bacon" was terribly cruel. I wonder how it ever even got approved, I mean people get paid big bucks for thins kind of thing. Seriously, you're basically telling the consumer "Hey, you're feeding your dog crap that we mixed up in a lab somewhere, but it's ok, he doesn't know any better."



So anytime I hear somebody say "it's bacon!" I immediately think of the tagline. Not something you want associated with your brand...

2. I saw that ad so many times I think that way too.

The dog thinking to itself, "It's...bacon!!!"

I saw a "turkey" last year on the Internet, made entirely out of bacon.
