I can't sleep. I'm pumped up. My wife and adopted daughter are on their way home!

Right around Thanksgivivng I posted a thread about the fact that I have something to be thankful for, the fact that I'm getting a daughter. The day has finally come, after around two years of papewrwork, frustration, and money. I can't sleep right now because of the excitement so I checked their flight status at Narita airport, where they are at this moment. It looks like there are no delays and at 2:30 this afternoon they will be here! As stated, I'm pumped up beyond belief.
Tiffany Joy is finally coming to the USA! We are going to try like the dickens to give her a good life. Not a lot of material things, but a lot of love and certainly some good solid core values. Values like being kind to people and animals, do not steal, do not lie, whatever you choose for a career path, give it your best shot. And above all else, DO NOT BECOME A REPUBLICAN!!!!!!!!!!! That is the one rule I will be unbending on. Anyway, thank you for indulging me. Think I'll go downstairs and run laps around the living room or something. Or windsprints up and down the stairs. Or whatever. Good grief! I'm so excited that I'm starting to ramble. Guess I'd better go now.

if you're running laps downstairs you're probably not reading this--but i think you should rest up. why run the risk of twisting your ankle doing "windsprints up and down the stairs" -- depending on how old she is this might be your last chance to get some rest for awhile (lol)

how old is tiffany joy?

i'm very happy for you--i remember how exciting it was when i was on the verge of seeing my daughter for the first time and i only traveled to the hospital!

i had to smile when i read:
"Not a lot of material things, but a lot of love and certainly some good solid core values. Values like being kind to people and animals" etc.
my guess: she'll want the material things (so prepare yourself)

my advice:
have fun
and pay attention--don't let any of it slip by because it all goes by so quick you don't want to miss anything.
love it all.

congrats again!

and the way you are hoping to raise her sounds spot on as well, especially being kind to people and animals and not becoming a Republican. Much happiness to you, your wife and Tiffany Joy.

We did the same, only from China in December 2002. We left Guanzhou in the PM on 12-25-02. Landed in LA on 12-25-12 in the afternoon. Then celebrated Christmas once we got home on 12-26-12.
She is now 11, strong willed, smart, funny beautiful!
Enjoy the Holidays and beyond!!

It was the best decision we have ever made. We have a wonderful, healthy brilliant beautiful girl, and I have the privilege of being her father.
