Ladies, if you like the look of a beard on a man, what length do you think looks best?

Inquiring minds need to know!

I've been experimenting. Absolutely nothing over about 1/3 of an inch on my face, I need to look clean and neat for work.

However, I keep trimming it shorter and shorter, and I like it better. Basically at the heavy stubble look now, 2.5 milimeters.

So, what looks good, a little five o'clock shadow? Light stubble? Santa? ZZ Top?

I'm just a twitch beyond the Miami Vice stubble look of the 80's.

As long as you don't look like the north end of a southbound goat, as someone once said about Mitch Miller.

Which, I believe is what you described as your current style.

And damn Don Johnson for starting that style.

I prefer just a mustache, but if a guy is going to do more I really don't like the stubble look. It either looks sloppy or contrived. not a fan. Not really into the old man rip van winkle/zz top look either. a neatly trimmed actual beard is fine.

my demographic is OLD so take that as you will

Maybe 1/2 to 1 inch in length, well trimmed around the mouth and neck. Five o'clock shadow and stubble will irritate your lady's skin in intimate moments. Santa has to keep his long to keep his neck warm at the North Pole and those frigid sleigh rides on Christmas Eve. ZZ Top, how do they keep from plucking those beards along with the guitar strings?

Tremendous hirsute rights victory.

Sad to say as I am becoming a buzzard now a little patch is wearing thin.

At its zenith it was like the son-o-man's.

And now it is more like Sean Connery's...
