I don't usually expect that here in the lounge.
Also, I'm convinced that these films are made so bad on purpose to increase contempt in the labor force for government regulation, starting with mandated safety training.

(3,879 posts)they used to show us in high school. I think they started using less brutal films in the late 60s, though.

(6,785 posts)video in an orientation. I probably would have gotten run out for laughing.
The ones they show now are much less gruesome, but they're way more horrifying because they're usually real accidents.

Oh, and you need to see this German safety film for forklift operators:
It starts getting gruesome about halfway through for those that don't want to watch.

(29,414 posts)we were shown an office-safety film. I know at least one of the actors in it was Patricia Tallman from Babylon 5 fame. And, one of the other actors looked an awful lot like Chris Farley!
I can't find this video, can't remember the name of it, yet it was hilarious! I think it was a remake of one from the early 60s as many of the falls and stunts were almost the same (like with people leaving filing cabinet drawers open.)
From the few hits I've found online, it's also been shown to Air Force personnel

(46,744 posts)Blood and Guts. Still remember the young kid who was transporting steel pipes. He slammed on the brakes and the steel pipes came through the cabin and crushed him. Yeah, they opened the door and let us see what he looked like. What was let of him.

(21,046 posts)Had still shots of dead people in car wrecks, with the red blood especially brilliant.
Of course, some of the high school kids thought it was cool.
