I liked that film. I loved The Parent Trap remake.

Now, someone like Emma Stone will make it hard for her to find a niche. I thought she was going to start a comeback with the Liz Taylor thing, but, I don't know anymore.

What could go wrong?

Of course, Liz Taylor had more substance than Lindsay will ever have.

... but Lohan was genuinely a very beautiful girl until this plastic surgery thing last year or whenever it was. Now she looks like the stereotype of a washed up porn actress. Very sad. Compelling evidence that screwed up parents often produce screwed up offspring.

I think that kind of over-sexed kitten thing she use to do is passe. I remember when a group of artists went up to give someone a eulogy, the band began to play when it was her turn to speak. She looked offended. Something was going on behind the scenes that I couldn't put my finger on, but I never saw Ann Margaret again after that.

Here's a terrific dance clip of her with Elvis in Viva Las Vegas.

She was wonderful in Grumpy Old Men. I thought her kind and gentle persona was a true reflection. I didn't know her personally, but I'd compare her to Liz Taylor before lumping her with Lindsay.

And what annoys me is if she was just a regular person working a 9-5 job trying to make ends meet she would still be in jail for the first offense she did years ago.

The more it is talk about the better it is. It is a lot like things were back a half a century ago with the town drunk, the town bad girl or even, sad to say, the town lady that was hurt by her husband. People would talk about it and sometimes even abate the problem. Say buy a bottle for the man with the drinking problem or not do anything to help the abused lady. The town seem to revile in these cases and would say how bad it was, but never really do anything about it.

Now in the 21st. century we have Lohan. Her clam to fame is doing things like this and we revel in it. She will never get help or straiten up as long as we keep using her as a guilty pleasure.

She is a controversy star. Sure for a little while it will quiet down. But it will start right back up when she is out. It would be the best thin for her career. And sadly, we made her. We the public used all this to feed our dark side. She is the product we made.

She went from a modestly talented minor celebrity to a major celebrity with little lingering talent, raking in the $$$ all the while. It would be nice to live in an alternate reality wherein she actually has to face consequences for her behavior.

I'm sure that I'd continue to get hired in my industry for job after job if I fucked up as many times as she has.

And I think she's up on charges for a couple different things. If she punched first, she might go to jail for a while for violating probation. It's really bad. I think she's been in constant trouble since the first incident with multiple probation violations.

Learn something she can't do at all and not have access to any kind of intoxicant. The Peace Corps comes to mind. An added bonus, WE wouldn't have to see the endless drama any more.

A few solid months away from the drugs and the alcohol and the enablers and hanger-ons.

Look at what a prison stretch did for Robert Downey, Jr. He bounced back from his problems and is more successful than ever.

But, then, Robert Downey, Jr., doesn't have two freaks for parents.
