Note: there are two surveys. You have to provide your email address for the Great American Psychopath Survey, but it is more thorough and it provides detailed report and the end showing you which areas you are more and less psychopathic in.

I clicked on the Great American psychopath survey link to the right of the page. I scored somewhat low at 110 out of 224. The two areas where I was most psychopathic were emotional detachment and staying cool under pressure. I scored somewhat high and high in those two areas respectively. In every other category I scored low or somewhat low.
There is another survey on the page that I think is a diagnostic tool, but I'm not sure of the formality of it.
Kevin Dutton is the author of the book The Wisdom of Psychopaths: What saints, spies, and serial killers can teach us about success. It's an excellent read. I read it in two sittings which is unlike me normally because I read slower than average, but the book was just so compelling that I couldn't put it down. In it, Dutton argues that psychopathy is not a cut and dried issue, but more like a spectrum. He also says that some psychopathic traits can be beneficial in professions such as medicine, the military, business, and even the clergy. Where most people fall somewhere below the dangerous level of psychopathy in the spectrum, and may have a few of their psychopathic dials turned up a bit such as being cool under pressure or being open to a wide range of new experiences, those who are truly psychopaths and a who are a danger to society have all the dials turned up all the way. They are essentially heartless predators devoid of conscience. They are also, for the most part, happy being who they are.

20 out of 33...hmm...
I feel the need to edit this, I took it again, probably more honestly than before, and got 22, surprisingly enough.

(4 posts)What I'm looking for? A meaning to life. Unless of course you were meaning something else entirely.
Interesting in an interesting way. You see? It could be anything.
