Most awesome plans for Black Friday?? Minnesota History Center - oooh ya!!

I saw this ad in the Sunday paper and whoo boy we are going! Free admission 6am-9am...awesome.

Partial listing of fun:

The Minnesota History Center will open its doors at 6 a.m. on Black Friday with family specials!
FREE ADMISSION to see the new "Then Now Wow" exhibit from 6 to 9 a.m.
FREE parking from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
FREE limited edition knit caps for the first 200 kids
FREE gift bags
FREE memberships for the first 50 families
25-percent gift shop discount until 9 a.m.
Free donuts and coffee while supplies last
Live music< For more information visit http://www.minnesotahistorycenter.org/blackfriday.

Check out a prairie sod house, listen to stories in a tipi, visit a north woods fur trading post, and hop on a street car plus much more!!

Ok so apparently the exhibits are designed for kids but are fun for all ages...screw the kids - this should be adult time only.

This is the drawback of being childfree - I always feel like my husband and I should borrow a kid for stuff like this.

A much better use of Black Friday than joining the stampeding crowds at places like Wall Mart.

Have fun.

we barely had any snow - I think he used it twice. Since he is itching to use it again, I am anticipating another snowless winter.

I bought snow shoes and a snow and sand bike (Surly, made in MN) -- that will guarantee rain all winter.

A big kudos to the folks at the History Center; I hope other cultural centers will do something similar.

I can't comprehend the people who stand in line for the stores to open. There's never been any material object I wanted that badly that I could actually buy in a retail store, much less one that I couldn't wait a little longer to get. Our parents never spoiled us with the concept of immediate gratification, and it's stuck.

One year it was because we really needed some cheap furniture and the deals at Wal-Mart for a futon were too good to pass up. Of course that was 10 yrs ago and we are smarter consumers now.

We have also joined in that frenzied rush of going from store to store in the dark morning and fighting throngs of crazed shoppers.

But now we are older, wiser and poorer. The last few years we have stayed home and watched the mess on tv, but this idea this year sounds a lot more fun!!

Drink heavily in the evening while watching a slew of bands at First Ave. play Replacement songs.
