Ok so apparently the exhibits are designed for kids but are fun for all ages...screw the kids - this should be adult time only.
This is the drawback of being childfree - I always feel like my husband and I should borrow a kid for stuff like this.

(441 posts)A much better use of Black Friday than joining the stampeding crowds at places like Wall Mart.
Have fun.

(3,702 posts)we barely had any snow - I think he used it twice. Since he is itching to use it again, I am anticipating another snowless winter.

(6,581 posts)I bought snow shoes and a snow and sand bike (Surly, made in MN) -- that will guarantee rain all winter.

(36,266 posts)A big kudos to the folks at the History Center; I hope other cultural centers will do something similar.
I can't comprehend the people who stand in line for the stores to open. There's never been any material object I wanted that badly that I could actually buy in a retail store, much less one that I couldn't wait a little longer to get. Our parents never spoiled us with the concept of immediate gratification, and it's stuck.

(3,702 posts)One year it was because we really needed some cheap furniture and the deals at Wal-Mart for a futon were too good to pass up. Of course that was 10 yrs ago and we are smarter consumers now.
We have also joined in that frenzied rush of going from store to store in the dark morning and fighting throngs of crazed shoppers.
But now we are older, wiser and poorer. The last few years we have stayed home and watched the mess on tv, but this idea this year sounds a lot more fun!!
