In which I vent my frustration.

After some nasty testing on Friday, the specialist, Mrs. V. and I decided I'd have (outpatient) surgery the day after Thanksgiving to fix a problem I've had for several months.

First I had to get a pre-op physical, which I did later the same day. But my internist found something abnormal in my EKG, and said she won't release me for surgery until my cardiologist checks me out. That appointment is tomorrow.

Plus there's the blood work, which results have to come back in time.

I am stressed about this, because I want to get the surgery over with. Not only do I want my problem fixed, but I don't want to miss any work! I have Friday off and want to do it then. Already I have to miss half a day to see the cardiologist tomorrow.

While I understand not wanting to take a day off, it's better to take one or two days off than a month or three later after you let whatever it is go untreated.

So...hush up and get it done.

All these steps are so frustrating, I know. And I also know you're fully aware of the necessity of them...

Still, it's maddening.

Hang in there! You WILL get there......

Just keep insisting on service. If nothing else they'll take care of you just to get you to hit up.

(And when they stop taking your calls there's always the fax machine, which is even better because you have a written record.)
