Favorite James Bond Movie....

I've seen them all except for the new one coming out.

I hated Roger Moore just because they were silly and seemed more of a parody to me than the Movie Casino Royale with David Niven as Bond (actually a good choice) and Woody Allen as Jimmy Bond.

I have to say that George Lazenby's Bond is one of my favorites because in it, Bond was the most human. I think I was about 12 when it came out and was the first Bond movie I saw in the theater. I have to admit I cried a bit as Bond turn to find Mrs. James Bond, Diana Rigg, slumped in the passenger seat of his Austin Martin, killed by an bullet made for him.

But my favorite is You Only Live Twice with Thunderball and the Craig version of Casino Royale and the aforementioned OHMSS coming in close.

I'm looking forward to the new Bond movie, but will wait until it hit's my cable company.

So tell us how you rate them or hate them or love them, 24 movies in 50 years. That's a run.

He just invented the role, and he played it to perfection.....till the end, when he was just walking through the scenes. I think the phrase is, he phoned it in. It was sad, but it was time for him to go......so he did.

I loved all the early movies. I felt sad too when his new bride got the poison dripped down the line, that was intended for him...I don't remember which movie it was, though. But that scene lives in my memory...

I want to see the new one too, but we will wait for it to show up on Netflix.....It's more fun at home!

It didn't go overboard with the gadgets, had a great villain/henchman in Robert Shaw and the Orient Express. Ali Karim Bey was a terrific sidekick/ally, much better than Jack Lord in Dr. No. Three words: Gypsy cat fight.

Casino Royale (2006) is my #2 with Goldfinger at #3.

Too bad Lazenby bailed out, he could have been good, certainly better than RM.

I like YOLT as a guilty pleasure even though it has some dopey plot holes. Almost comes across as a parody like Austin Powers.

except for the new one, and read of most of Fleming's novels.

IMO, From Russia with Love is still the best one, because it had the cold war, spy vs. spy feeling to it, and Robert Shaw was the best villain ever.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is probably number two. It had one of the most non-stop exciting paces, and Dianna Rigg was smokin' hot.

Third place is Casino Royale (2006), because it was a much needed reboot, and the gritty Bond played so well by Daniel Craig is much like the Fleming novel bonds.

Never, ever liked Moore, Dalton, or Brosnan.

With Goldfinger and Dr. No tied for second.

I loved the George Lazenby Bond but the producers got rid of him...I remember being outraged at the time. They said he wasn't exciting enough.

Even though Connery himself is kind of an asshole, he's still Connery.

Hands down, my favorite is Craig's Casino Royale.

Bond is generally entertaining, but I've never found him particularly interesting as a character until Casino Royale.

Won't be able to see Skyfall until DVD, alas.

I cheerfully commit the Bond blasphemy of stating that Daniel Craig is better than Sean Connery. People forget that Connery did the tongue-in-cheek thing just like Roger Moore, if to a lesser extent. The 60's Bonds were a little too campy for my tastes. The 70's Bonds were worse.

Daniel Craig is tough, cool, cruel, inscrutable, and a fine actor.

I've got a bit of a man-crush on him...

I also liked both of the Dalton films a lot. Roger Moore was a joke as Bond. Craig, OTOH, is fabulous.
