(36,063 posts)Frankly, if it more of less stays that way till the 22, our traditional day for putting up lights for the solstice season, I'd be good.

(10,418 posts)Nothing has accumulated more than a dusting, though, and that quickly melted away. I hate snow, but I drive for a living. If I didn't I might have a different opinion.

... the climate here in Tucson (outside of several BEASTLY monsoon season months)
is that I really do miss fairly harsh winters.
.
I had seriously considered moving to Canada or back to New England for a coupla
years before I moved here (my two-pronged plan for more than 15 years), but
circumstances precluded that.
.
I miss good clean heavy DEEP snow. And siiting in front of a roaring, crackling
fireplace with a glass of red in hand.

(17,086 posts)Cortez is around 6,000' el. and is sort of an ecotone between the mountains and the desert. I can find snow within an hour's drive easily if I want to, from now until Spring, or head the other direction and play in the canyons.

(30,947 posts)We only get about one snowfall a year and that does not happen until December at the earliest. And then it does not stick for long. The biggest snowfall we had was the blizzard of '93. Usually, no shoveling snow here. The biggest problem is when the streets ice up.

(24,146 posts)accumulation on the grass, but nothing that's stuck around and nothing in the forecast for the foreseeable future. we're going to have a mild thanksgiving. i'm not too worried yet, there is plenty of time for snow here
seabeyond
(110,159 posts)actually that is the moving down system. there is another system we get straight across from flagstaff that can bring us snow also.
but, the ones from colorado seem to be bigger.
