Will I be able to drive to Colorado and buy Pot if I'm from out of state?

A question for people familiar with the new Pot laws in Colorado. I live in Utah, and am wondering if Colorado's new pot law allows for out of state residents to come in and partake? Too bad it's only one ounce that's permissible.

I'm sure that, with all the interest about this new law, they have FAQ page on it.

Seems to me the policy should be sell to anyone 21 and up, and if you take it out of state that's your own problem. But who knows....

They don't spend too much of their resources chasing users with under an ounce, though, which is the legal limit. As long as you keep it out of federal property, you shouldn't be bothered. Of course, I'm surrounded by a National Park and Forest, as well as BLM land here...

You just can't possess any of it in your home state.

You can barely possess any of it in the states that decriminalized it.

Unless you register as a supplier or seller. Nobody's buying bales for resale in Alabama. Not out the front door, anyways.

You just can't take it back to Utah with you. State laws apply to everyone within the state lines. So what it means is that pot possession is decriminalized anywhere in CO, for anyone in CO, but it is not decriminalized under federal law or under the law of any other state.

Here's the catch - you can't purchase them unless you have an out of state license AND sign a statement that says you won't take them into a state where they are illegal. Small problem. They're illegal in all of the border states too. They'll still sell them.

It reminds me of the late 70's when I bought some bong screens at a head shop in Georgetown. I had to sign a statement saying I wouldn't use them for anything illegal. What the fuck else are you going to use them for, wet fart protection????

I got thrown out of a headshop about ten years ago for calling them bongs.
Apparently if they admit to carrying bongs they can get in pretty big trouble. If the drug laws are that easy to circumvent, I don't know why more people aren't trying it. "Cocaine? Hell no, cocaine is illegal. This is sandblasting grit."
