I freakin' LOVE Election Night.

I'm sitting here, NBC on mute on the TV, MSNBC streaming on the computer, CNN streaming on the iPhone, an electoral college tally sheet on my lap, a big glass of red wine at my side. Even thought it's totally nerve racking, I'm LOVING this. I feel like a female Josh Lyman.

My dad would be so proud. He was a precinct chair when I was growing up, and we always had a big night on election nights. They'd hand count the votes, lock 'em up in a big metal box, and then we'd drive into the county seat to turn them in. Then we always got to go for hamburgers at the local drive-in afterwards. It's one of my fondest memories of my dad.

Josh Lyman was one of my favorite characters from 'The West Wing'.

My nerves are pretty wracked, too. Hoping for the best!...

That whole show was so well done, it was probably the best series ever produced for American television.

Allison Janney was terrific in TWW, and usually pretty hot. But I had it bad for Congresswoman Andy Wyatt, Toby's ex-wife!...

5. I had a thing for Mallory.

Gorgeous, intelligent redheaded teacher. Oh my.

6. Me too. But my personality is closer to that of Toby than Sam.

So I gravitated more to Andy than Mallory.

Still, I remember when Allison Smith was just a kid. Then I saw her on TWW, and thought: "Wow! She growed up niiiiice!

7. I gave up on that. I just go to bed now and wait for morning.

Of course, morning came at 3:30 a.m., but still.
