If you follow "Dexter" on HBO, you know what I'm talking about...
**SPOILER**
Don't read any further if you didn't see Episode 6 last night!
Too rich that Dex is now sexually involved with a serial killer. It can't end well so Deb will have to comfort Dex...
I just can't see the writers not utilizing this juicy plot advancement that seems inevitable.

(17,742 posts)they've been suggesting this for awhile, with Deb's dreams about Dex, etc.
And since they're not blood relations, it's not as much a taboo, is it?

(903 posts)but i think that deb will have to kill LaGuerta to protect Dexter and/or Deb will be killed by Isaak.
There's only one more season after this one, so i think that the finale will have some BIG stuff happening.
If Deb dies- I'm guessing that she'll show up with james remar in dexter's conversations with him.

(2,104 posts)Deb's days were numbered the instant she learned about Dexter.
I can't see her being around and knowing, from a writing POV, it seems like it can't last for long. Someone else it might work but not Deb, she's his boss now, a cop for so long, even if she had issues about why she wanted that so bad I see it as too much of her character. To balance that I think she has to die/leave the show in some way, and getting killed either cleanly, LOD or through some blowback through Dexter like Rita.
I don't think she'll be a voice in Dexter's head, at least not long term, more like Brian popping in now and then but probably more right after she's killed to guilt Dexter if at all.
I don't see Deb killing LaGuerta, lying to her, falsifying evidence etc but not killing her, Dexter might find a way/reason to do that though I don't think so. I can see her being satisfied with some other explanation like a copycat of the Butcher/apprentice if not just moving on after finding nothing or being promoted.
I don't know how the books end, if they do/did, so who knows maybe Dexter stops killing, goes to jail, gets killed, is found out, etc.
deb and dexter could end up on the run together...this season's storyline is supposed to be part of a story arc with next year's final season.
i'm hoping for lumen to make a comeback- and after last night's episode, it seems like LaGuerta is probably going to find her.
I was waiting for deb to ask dexter if he was in the basement when she was talking to the killer(lumen) through a curtain, and let her go.

(111 posts)On the subject of Dex and Deb doing the horizontal tango, there was a lot of blow-back on various sites about the very IDEA the writers could introduce such a sub-plot. Various Puritans thundered from their cyber-pulpits about incest when, indeed, anybody who's a regular viewer knows the two aren't related and are already close in many ways blood siblings aren't.
I really think a sexual escapade between the two is inevitable, either this season or next.
Deb is such an integral part of Dexter's identify and self-image, I just can't see him being the instrument of her demise. Then, again, there are tantalizing hints that, should she exit stage left, it might not be at Dexter's hands:
The interaction between Deb and Hannah is like putting two Siamese fighting fish in a bowl, where one will ultimately destroy the other, the actress (Jennifer Carpenter) tells TVLine with a laugh. You just dont know who is going to win.
