Our border collie does that with her food dish. She throws it around the kitchen until someone feeds her. On the plus side, she only does that at NORMAL feeding times. My big boy throws the cat food bowl down the basement stairs, perhaps because he feels that what is left in the bowl is "too stale" (an hour after it was put in). If we don't refill it he will still eat the food off of the stairs, but for some reason he continues to do this.
