One year, after growing corn, a random kernel found its way into the crack between the street and the curb and the following season it came up. I left it. EVERY (but one) comment I got was on how pretty it was and how it added to the beauty of the neighborhood. The exception was from the "all sports" extreme Republican two doors down. He's also the one who said our cherry tree would never survive while we were pulling it up with two trucks last year. The tree not only survived, but had its best season ever - AND - it made it through Sandy.

Sometimes the best way to handle a situation is to add a little beauty to it. Whoever is doing this to those potholes is a wonderful person.
