Eggnog!

Yes, eggnog is back on the shelves!

Bought some today, tried a new one, JR Watkins.

3. It's my theory that the reason for the general rise in obesity

(not pointing at anyone in this thread, of course) is the presence of Halloween candy in late August, Eggnog before Halloween, Christmas candy in November, Valentine's candy in January and Easter candy in February!

We reserve eggnog for the 12 days of Christmas; just try to buy some December 31st!

Real eggnog tastes nothing like anything I've found in a carton.

It's like eating a Sara Lee cheesecake after eating a home-made one.
You can't compare the flavor.

But Sara Lee Cheesecakes and store-bought eggnog is good, depending on the brand.

Southern Comfort eggnog is a conspiracy to get us fat.
It's just so tasty!

"Lite" eggnog is an abomination.

9. The difference is a Sara Lee cheesecake is still cheesecake

It's still made with basically the same ingredients and the same methods.

Real eggnog tastes the way it does because egg whites have been frothed and the booze tickles the nose and goes down warm the way only booze does.

Store bought eggnog has no froth and instead uses thickening agents and rarely contains booze.
