We reserve eggnog for the 12 days of Christmas; just try to buy some December 31st!

You can't compare the flavor.
But Sara Lee Cheesecakes and store-bought eggnog is good, depending on the brand.
Southern Comfort eggnog is a conspiracy to get us fat.
It's just so tasty!
"Lite" eggnog is an abomination.

(36,827 posts)It's still made with basically the same ingredients and the same methods.
Real eggnog tastes the way it does because egg whites have been frothed and the booze tickles the nose and goes down warm the way only booze does.
Store bought eggnog has no froth and instead uses thickening agents and rarely contains booze.
