(21,046 posts)A very good, small, nominally Presbyterian, liberal arts college. Big tennis school along with Stanford, Rice and UCLA. In football, plays powerhouses like Tarleton State College and The University of Guadalajara.
B.A. Biology. still waiting for that fabulous career that all Trinity grads are supposed to have.
Also attended the University of Houston, a large state school.
Also:
A freestanding private law school with a huge enrollment of about 1,000 students.
Formerly partnered with South Texas Junior College which fed former G.I.s into the law school after World War II. At the time, students needed 60 credit hours of college to go to law school, which was then and is still now, 90 semester hours. At the time, the degree earned was the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) which has now been changed to the Juris Doctor (J.D.), since the entrance requirements include a bachelor's degree.
South Texas Junior College was eaten by the University of Houston and is now the Downtown College of U of H.
Now South Texas College of Law is known for producing excellent trial attorneys.
3rd degree: Houston Community College, A.A.S. in Court Reporting. I was the first graduate of the court reporting program at H.C.C. which was started in 1975.

(82,849 posts)She worked for Bethany Seminary, which had just moved its campus from Illinois to Indiana, and shares some of Earlham's facilities. Charming little place, but I had a full-blown panic attack in the Wal-Mart there, buying picnic supplies. They had a three-story house just off campus, and during my visit I helped my friend oil, wax and seal the floors of their new purchase.
As I recall, they bought the house for about $40,000, which was CHEAP even then. But as my friend pointed out, to live in the house, you had to live in Indiana.

(34,137 posts)Started at Florida Presbyterian, now Eckerd College, transferred to FSU for their library science and anthropology departments. I wanted to work in a museum, so I got a double major in those subject. Never did anything with my degree.
And for the football fans - I transferred in January and didn't know FSU had a football team til I was trying to get back to campus one Saturday in September and was blocked by the crowds getting to the first game of the year. Ever since the only reason I keep track of the football schedule is so I can stay out of town on football weekends!
