with lots of running room. Without a doubt. But I would also have a microchip check at the vet with a checkup and try to find the owner. My two rescues:

I have done stuff like that a lot for animals. One time after the tornado there was yowling coming from some derby. Now the rubble was very unstable, so much that the firefighters that were looking for survives were leery of it. But something in me just leaped. I had to get to the... whatever it was calling. Not only was it a cat their was also a puppy. Many of us risked a lot when we heard any sign of life, human or not.

Like someone else posted, I'd take him to be scanned for a microchip first, then begin checking Craiglist later in the day.
