Craigslist Stinks...

Listed some comic books on Craigslist a few weeks ago and didn't get any responses, so I packed them up in two footlockers in my closet. The other day, I got an e-mail from a young man who said that he was interested. So, guess what I had do the other day? That's right, I had to push the two footlockers out of the closet in my library and into the living room. Since they were so heavy, I had to get on my knees to get the proper leverage.

Thank goodness he decided to take them all... I don't think I could make that trip for the third time if he had just cherry-picked the good ones.

Uhm, no matter HOW you sold them, you'd still be shifting 2 trunks of comics. riderinthestorm Oct 2012 #4

so Craigslist stinks for successfully finding a buyer AT NO COST TO YOU. Maybe you should lower your standards a bit.

I'm just lamenting the fact that it found a buyer after I had given up. And trust me, moving two large footlockers filled completely with comic books is not fun.

I'm guessing the Craigslist buyer helped you at least?

If this were Ebay you'd be doing all the heavy lifting yourself!

Craiglist isn't the problem - its the labor of selling. Period.

Eventually, I would have had to drag those trunks out eventually. Whether it was taking them to the comic store or next year's garage sale.

He did help me, for sure. And yeah, it really was the process of selling them that's the problem, not Craigslist itself.

Rojovsky advertised in the backs of comics as a buyer and I've already spat on the floor twice while typing this post.
The kept the comics they liked and poorly packed up the others to send back to me. The check for the ones they bought was supposed to come later. It never did. No doubt they pulled that shit on a lot of other kids.

Wish we'd had Craigslist back then.

Stories like that make me very glad that there are now more reputable methods to sell your comics. I wonder how much money that guy made off of his scheme, and if it ever bit him in the ass at the end.
