The characters of Satsuki and her father were the same animated characters AND voices from Totoro in "Kiki's Delivery Service" - but in different roles. That's unusual. The Grandmother figure from "Totoro" also played the same sort of character in "Howel's Moving Castle".

At any rate, they reused the same characters (animated) in multiple movies. The little girl (younger sister) from Totoro was the main character in "Panda Go Panda". The old woman from "Totoro" was the old woman in "Howel's Moving Castle" The dad in Totoro was the dad in Kiki. Actually, I think the same animated girl was in "Spirited Away". That's a rather unusual thing to do, but we're also talking about an animation grand master. He transcends Disney.
