I talked to him on the phone yesterday as he was helping me with one of my assignments for a professional writing class I'm taking. He made it fun and I had a good time. So much more of a person's personality comes through when you can actually talk to them as opposed to leaving notes like this on a message board. Not that this is bad, and it can be fun. We just aren't getting the full picture when we communicate this way.

(29,322 posts)because I'm terrible on the phone. I usually end up listening to the other person or breath or quickly try to think of something to say.
I prefer this way because I can go at my own flow and think about what I'm going to say.

(20,277 posts)From the things the guy says here about his wife, children and pets, you can tell he's really a good man.
I'm thinking that this is true of a lot of people here. You can't see facial expressions or tone of voice, so it's hard to gauge what people are really getting at.

I've never talked to him on the phone, but I have done some PMing with him, and he comes across as a very caring guy.
I'm glad you two had a good time on the phone with your assignment!
