(47,675 posts)Not just with each other. They interact with humans, cats, dogs, and rabbits (all we've tried) and love to be handled. I'm not sure about brown recluse spiders, but most spiders are also very sociable. I pet them. They like it. There's one in the garden my wife won't let me pet. The colors say "LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE" all over it. I still want to pet it.

(47,675 posts)They're actually more deadly than black widows, and tarantulas have a bad rap. It's really not the bite that's most dangerous, but their barbed-end hairs. They fling them into the air and if you get any in your eyes you're royally fucked. At that point you would be BEGGING it to bite you.

(285 posts)I'm interested in toads, and I am curious why three willing women would ever marry that toad, when I'm pretty sure he causes cancer.
Hermit crabs never seem die, and they are neat when they switch shells.
Your wife is right to yell at you, stop molesting the spiders.

I think the internet is a great place for introverts. Places like DU where one can express an opinion on an equal basis. Where you can craft your message uninterrupted. And it is placed just as prominently as an extroverts comment. There isn't anyone shouting over you...unless you count those annoying ALLCAPS extros.
