(55,014 posts)"this is ________ and we are on the way!" I was like, durrrrwut? then they gave the address real fast and I was all confused but the street name soaked in and I finally figured out what was going on. I said is this for a pizza? and the guy said no sandwiches, actually - good to know MFM is keeping to the healthier end of the menu.
I hope the guy believed me when I explained why I was so confused, and they don't think the whole thing was a prank. I told him to call back if there were any problems.

So he gave YOUR number out...
I hope he gets his healthy sandwiches!
BTW, thanks for the envelopes....
He did tell you what he was doing, didn't he?
I'm really happy for him...

... so I lost a lotta food.
.
.
He finally called Thursday night (when he came home, if he hadn't, I was ready to tell him to
call while I was right there). Turns out the LL was leaving for a few day's vacation on Friday,
but that he would TRY to get something done.
.
I KNEW what that meant.
.
The loss of food wasn't the landlord's fault, so I can't even take it out of next month's rent.

I hope to be moved somewhere else by November.

I hear you on the fridge, we have been doing a lot of sandwich stuff too,(and cold showers) in this case because we are still working on the gas lines. found the two biggest leaks and got them repaired but still working on the house. won't quite hold 5 lbs pressure and they might test it to 10. arrrggghh

... and had forgotten just how meh it had been back then.

There was this amazing independent hot dog/sandwich joint on the Pennsylvania/Delaware border
called Jimmy John's where the owner had retired after decades of HUGE success.
.
When I saw a Jimmy John's HERE in Tucson, I thought the owner had done what so MANY hoagie
shop retirees had done here... open up another place because they missed their calling.
.
Not so -- this is a chain that specializes in really, seriously meh stuff (there are amazingly now
THREE of these places in Tucson).
.
The only online-ordering for DELIVERY option was pizza places -- all others are for pickup or
require a phone or a fax before they'll deliver.

.
I ordered hot peppers on the side, which were good... but cost me 75 cents for what was the
equivalent of one sliced hot cherry pepper!!! At least the extra tomatoes & lettuce were free.
.
If I could, I'd order from Brushfire BBQ -- good BBQ and they USED to have the absolute
best salads in town -- with a small side of the BBQ meat of your choice on the side and a
1/2 french roll pc of great garlic bread and more fruits and veggies than you may see on
another salad in your life (and walnuts, YUM).
.
Kali, some other delivery guy might be calling you any minute now.
