I'm looking at the extended forecast on WeatherBug, and there is not a day under 95 degrees in the forecast through to the 5th of October.
Back in August, we had one day where some monsoonal thunderstorms came through and cooled it down to 70 degrees in the afternoon. One day since last April where we could keep the windows open and let a breeze flow through the house. Yes, I know it's Vegas, but goddammit it's almost October!
I'm completely fed up with it. Want to move, have no money to move. Triple digits forecast for Sunday. Give me a break!
So I guess this will be one of those years where we go from over 90 degrees down to the 60s and 70s of autumn in a period of 2-3 days. All we need is one actual, honest cold front! Maybe the week of friggin' Halloween?

(16,334 posts)we had a little break with upper 50s first thing in the morning and then 80s during the day. Now, we're expectig rain so it's humid and nasty.
I just run the air as much as I can and look forward to January!

(8,601 posts)They say a dew point of 50 is when the most sensitive people start to feel discomfort.
I'm one of those people, no doubt about it!

(8,601 posts)I know Sacramento and the like can be hot too, but I would never have guessed you'd be that hot this late in the year.
I hope for your sake that it goes away before ours does. At least most of this shit we've had has been really dry with humidity well under 30%.

to move. This place is only habitable to black widows and scorpions! No fall here, just a bleeding monsoon and lots of high winds.

(8,601 posts)Our apartment complex is near UNLV and probably a good 40 years old, and I don't think they've ever replaced the air conditioners. So, if you want your apartment even close to 80 degrees on summer days, you can expect your June-August electric bills to be at least triple your November-February ones. And I'm not exaggerating.
That's one of the reasons why we can't afford to move. It's like a Roach Hotel for humans (and roaches).

(4,373 posts)And pretty much all of them nearby are roach motels.
I know you're not exaggerating - my July and August bills are three times what they are when I don't run the air conditioner. Before I got into this house we bought a couple of portable units that you could add water and/or ice to...they won't cool a whole apartment or house, but they are pretty good at cooling a room; they did allow us to cut down using the air conditioner at night by putting them in a bedroom. Good luck.

(32 posts)I moved last winter from Fresno Ca to southern Sweden
I found a wonderful woman to spend my life with.
Besides, after 58 summers in Central California, i was getting tired of the 100+ heat.
Its 13c right now (about 55f), and the foliage is beginning to be beautiful.
Now if I could just get used to the keyboard...

Stockholm has a number of nice buildings and Malmo's right next to Denmark, practically.

(5,364 posts)It's the very end of september and I'm getting bummed out. All but 7 or 8 days have seen temperatures above the normal for the given day ( I'm a real weather stat hound ) and I fear we might get gypped out of our fall, after such a brutal summer.
The first one-third part of september was as hot and steamy as any day in july. Between then and now we'd have spells of comfortable weather ( high 73/low 55 ) lasting several days, then the heat and some humidity returns, although slightly less than before, lasting several more days. The epic battle of fall and summer slugging it out and summer sure as hell wants to go down still swinging. Even on the cooler days though you can still feel the sun's "bite" on your skin, which says to me it's still too early for me to expect comfortable weather as the norm.
