Speculation had been swirling since he suddenly cancelled a bunch of events last week, but the man checks in and manages to make even a pacemaker installation sound awesome:
Attention, Troops!
This is a dispatch sent from your beloved Generalissimo, directly from the center of Hollywoods combat zone!
Now hear this! Your leader hath not deserted thee! In an effort to be more like my fellow Avenger, Tony Stark, I have had an electronic pace-maker placed near my heart to insure that Ill be able to lead thee for another 90 years.
But fear thee not, my valiant warriors. I am in constant touch with our commanders in the field and victory shall soon be ours. Now I must end this dispatch and join my troops, for an army without a leader is like a day without a cameo!
Excelsior!

(54,420 posts)I told him that when I heard he had gotten a pacemaker, I just assumed it was some 20-something model to stand at his shoulder and tell him to slow his pace down.
We'll see what his response is.
He looked pretty good the last time we had lunch. That wasn't so long ago, so I'll bet he still does:

"Actually, (DFW), it was a 28-year old model but if I told the truth countless other 28-year olds would be knocking at my door."
Typical for him. How can you not love this guy?
