Question for (current) wrestling fans

One of the threads about Linda McMahon over on the other forums got me thinking - Has Vince attempted to work his wife's Senate runs into their wrestling promotion? It just seems like the kind of thing that his steroid-addled carnie imagination would be all over, and even if it would push her chances from "unlikely" to "hopeless," he seems like the kind of guy that would go through with it if it meant better ratings/more money.

I wish I knew what assholes the McMahons were back when I followed wrestling as a kid in the 80s - It would have been fun cheering the heels a decade before that became cool. (Vince's public persona was a face commentator back then, and Jesse Ventura was his heel counterpart. Weird that they both moved on to state level politics)

....not on raw or smackdown....haven't seen anything for this campaign, save for the register to vote....Vince knows his audience crosses political lines...

He's definitely got good instincts for giving his customers what they want, and I can't imagine any way that actual political content would work, even if it didn't risk alienating the lefties in the audience.

It's just that ever since the death of kayfabe, and the current savvy (and internet connected) audience, they love running the angles that blur the public persona and private lives of their people, and the old personality driven 'feuds' have somewhat given way to rivalries based on manufactured backroom company politics. Seems like something along those lines could work.
