We have never tried pot.
So if it is legal we will make a road trip to Colorado!!
We are in our late 40s.
Should be an interesting experience!!

(102,418 posts)tried pot--or at least been in the vicinity of others smoking. Really?
I surely hope it passes, but there are a lot better reasons to come visit Colorado, imho.

(22,457 posts)I have never even smoked anything once. Drink often though.
Wife tried pot once. The other couple never have either.
We have been to Colorado many times. Skiing. Summers.
The legal thing matters to me.
But since it would be legal I think it is a good reason to go there.

(13,661 posts)either, with the exception of a few sips of wine at dinner when my mom had some.
I just wasn't ever interested. I was around others who were smoking, drinking, etc, at some high school parties and I was bored. Didn't think getting drunk and staggering around and puking and jumping off balconies looked like fun.
I do, however, very firmly believe pot should be legal, and all other drugs decriminalized/regulated.
Once it is legal, though (and I'm sure it will be legalized in my lifetime), I'm still not interested.
I would probably like to have the option of marijuana tea if I ever get arthritis, though (or marijuana for any other medical purpose). My husband's grandmother, who was full blooded Cherokee, treated her rheumatoid arthritis with a single glass of marijuana tea every morning, and her swelling went away for a day, and she was mobile and active and pain-free. When she was sent to a nursing home by the evil aunt and uncle, the nursing home put her on 'standard' arthritis meds and she was in pain until she died.

(46,416 posts)ever sought it out. I had a guy I worked with in college offer me acid once, I said no thanks. That was about it.

(12,132 posts)Of course, that may be because I agree with you lol...In my youth I smoked a LOT of weed. I quit shortly after I got married and it wasn't because either one of us was against pot - we were just both afraid of legal consequences. When I was young and single those consequences didn't bother me as much as when I was trying to start a family. Kinda tough to provide for my family from jail and all.
But now all the kids are grown and I can guarantee if it becomes legal where I am or I travel somewhere it is legal, I would hit that bong.
I really miss getting high at concerts. I can drink a few beers and get a buzz but that's just not the same thing as a fat, sticky doob.

(14,819 posts)I think that the illegality of pot is just plain silly. I've never had any great desire to try it, but if I did want to the legal issue would definitely be in my mind small though it appears to be in practice.

The interesting part about this new law is the out-of-state enforcement.
Once it becomes legal, it opens a major floodgates for other states to rush and legalize too.
Increasing pressure to the feds.
