Gaga captioned one picture simply, Bulimia and anorexia since I was 15.

(47,675 posts)This notion that woman have to look like covergirls (who are basically all digitally altered) is not only dangerous to their health, but also pushes an unrealistic "Barbie" image that convinces girls of normal weight that they are "fat". Every girl I've dated has called herself fat, and none of them were. You need a little extra weight to deal with illnesses. Sure, too much is a bad thing, but a spare tire is actually a good thing. Beer guts, not so much.

(47,675 posts)I'm back up to the 130-135 range and that's a good weight for me. I'm not skinny, but I'm not fat either. Sometimes I go days without eating (another issue) and a I just burn fat. Other days I eat all day. I'm just not a "3 meals a day" sort of person.

Those certainly are not photos of someone who needs to lose weight...

The after ones do look like she's above a healthy BMI, but wouldn't cause outrage if a) she wasn't a celebrity that people are used to seeing as thin, and b) she wasn't wearing clothing that society says only thin people should wear.
I saw three of them, the before and two of the afters, and none of them looked extreme either way to me.
