(65,168 posts)Not a huge fan of dark chocolate. Don't hate it, just not for me.
Have taken tours of both the Hershey & Lindt factories. Very cool & smells just great!

(649 posts)Strawberries will be in season soon here in the South. We keep 70% cocoa dark chocolate squares in the refrigerator for an occasional snack.

(3,728 posts)True story, I was being interviewed for a chocolate company management job. I was with the general manager when the owner came by. The owner asked me if I liked chocolate. I answered, "I can take it or leave it."
I did get the job and retired 20 years later, still un-addicted to chocolate, of which white, dark, or milky I can take or leave.
However, some chocolate just tastes bad.

(2,129 posts)Dark ! The higher the cocoa, the better.
On same note, I cannot make myself eat white chocolate. I'm sure, it's a mental thing, but as they say, " you, eat with your eyes, first."

(13,110 posts)I have tried very expensive chocolate.
My palate loves Hershey's.
I don't like the taste of Dove chocolate at all.
Dark chocolate isn't sweet enough and taste bitter.

(7,659 posts)These chocolate chips are about perfect for what I like to taste and there's about 1 gram difference of sugar and carbs compared to Hershey's sugar free chocolate chips.
Sometimes I purchase the Hershey's sugar free chocolate chips because I like how they're miniature and not regular sized.
I like milk chocolate if I can find it in a sugar free form. For me, 60% to 70% dark chocolate is ideal.
I don't like white chocolate at all.

(4,758 posts)They're a small French house that embraces milk chocolate, with the fatty richness and subtle muting of the sharp cocoa overtones
but it's still 65% cocoa, and incredibly well-sourced, so it has the intense flavor that you can only usually find in "normal" bars. You also pay quite dearly for it.

(4,758 posts)That said, it makes you question the idea of "worth it" when a $25 bar of chocolate is, indeed, worth it

My cousins ex is from Russia and every time she went home to visit, shed bring back boxes of Russian candy. Russian chocolate is awful. I asked him why he couldnt marry a girl from Switzerland.

(14,933 posts)I remember when Lindt opened up a store on 5th Ave in ?the 90's!
I love 72% - 85%!
I think I like 90% almost as much - but the 85% has a bit more sugar that contrasts against the Chocolate.
About 3 wks ago I bought an 85%, and a 90% together so I could compare them.
.Also have had Godiva's, Valrona's, and Jaque Torres's. All 🧡 .
I do still love Reeses PB cups which are milk chocolate.
And for a while Trader Joe's had
dark chocolate PB cups! 👍🧡
