HBO has hired you to write & direct the movie biopic of the Romney campaign 2012....

What's the name of your movie and who would you cast in the key roles - Mitt Romney, Ann Romney, Paul Ryan and others.

I keep thinking Amy Poehler would do a great Ann Romney but she's a bit too young for the part. If Glenn Close channeled her Alex Forrest charcter from 'Fatal Attraction' ('I'm not going to be ignored'). She could do the part with Michael Douglas as Mitt Romney. Fred Savage (the kid from 'The Wonder Years') could play Paul Ryan.

Still thinking of the title other than 'The Douchebag who wanted to be King'. Not sure you can have douchebag in the name of a movie title.

Romneys
Mitt = Bruce Campbell doing the full blown Ash mode.
Ann = Amy Poehler, you'd have to give her a few more lbs. You're right she is a bit young, but Mr. Campbell doesn't have the wrinkles Mitty does.

Paul Ryan = Jack Gleason (Young, but I still can't help but enjoy the gif of him getting slapped by Tyrion)

Meaning much younger cast trying to go edgy with a glint of humor.

Amy did Katie really dry, which is how I perceive Ann Romney

Is an Inspired Choice!
He is a great actor...

As long as he is not subjected to the Travolta, Hairspray type craziness I think it should be alright.

It's called, "Game of Thrones", and the Romneys are the Lannisters.

Jennifer Coolidge would be another great Ann Romney, especially given that this movie would be a comedy, intended or not. Or, maybe Ana Gasteyer. Fellow SNL alum, Kevin Nealon, would make a good Mittster. I think Michael Douglas is a tad too old at this point. He could be a good Ghost of George Romney, though.

I don't have a good title for it yet, especially since "Liar Liar" has been taken.

Having just seen Billy Baldwin on "Hawaii Five O", I think his brother, Alec, would be a perfect Mitt.

Fred Savage as Ryan is also pretty inspired.

"Clueless' would be a great title if it hadn't already been use.
