(13,778 posts)A couple of us are pooling our DVDs or getting ones from the Library and doing a Sunday movie night every 2nd and 4th Sunday evening in our club room. It has become very popular.
We try to rotate genres and we are due for a romantic movie next so I picked Moonstruck!
We did Dial M for Murder last Sunday and Rear Window two Sundays before that.
We do a little research on the movie and the stars, then give a 10-15 minute overview before starting the movie.
We had a request for Thunder Road, with Robert Mitchum, and showed it a few months ago. I'd never heard of it but all the men (they grew up in the South) were very familiar with it. What's not to like? Moonshining and fast cars. Yee-haw! Anyway, I liked it.

(66,462 posts)I thought I'd watch anything with Olympia Dukakis or John Mahoney. But I forgot to factor in if Cher or Nicholas Cage would be in it, as well. They're the deal-breaker. Really can't stand either of them.

Still friends???

(43,198 posts)...that is commonly known as "Eggs in a basket." Basically, it's just an egg fried in the middle of a piece of bread.
I remember after the movie came out and my mom saw it, she would cook us what she called "Moonstruck breakfast."
It's very simple, but pretty damn good. I still make it myself from time to time.
Anyways, good movie. Before he became something of a joke, Nicholas Cage had some decent acting chops.
