(4,340 posts)They could have found someone better. Maybe Carmine Appice?

(95,337 posts)Sure, John was the better of the two drummers but surviving members are very loyal in regards to the legacy of John Bonham. To have any other drummer play that show would be spitting on Bonzo's grave.

(4,340 posts)Carmine Appice was actually John Bonham's biggest influence. I think they pulled in Jason for the fans.

(95,337 posts)Jason has never really made it big with any band out there. And even though Appice was influential for Bonzo, Jason was blood. Remember this is a band that disbanded because of Bonham's death. They weren't like The Who that felt their legendary drummer was replaceable. To John, Jimmy and Robert there was only one drummer for them and that was John Bonham. Jimmy would have never used anyone else but Jason out of respect for John Bonham.

(12,132 posts)and most of the hard core zep fans I know tolerate Jason only because of his father. But almost to a man, they agree he did a great job that night. A few minor flubs but hell, Bonzo left a show with diarrhea once...

(12,132 posts)Awfully limited release! I think it's a good thing I ordered early. Will have to take off work early that day to get to the theater as it's about an hour away.
at 15 bucks a piece I think these movie tix are more expensive than actual Led Zeppelin concert tickets from back in the day. (WAY less than the O2 Arena show tickets were though...)
