I have watched all complete seasons and it keeps getting better and better!

Who are you looking to get redemmed?

No spoilers but yeah more people die and some of them don't deserve it and some of them do.

Now, I'm no total couch potato, but I've seen a lot of the popular shows and IMHO nothing else beats Breaking Bad.

I hope you'll stay with it because the final episodes next summer are going to be freaking insane.

I'm not going to spoil anything for you except to say that Walt's descent is amazing to behold and the tempo is up to about 240 b.p.m. and accelerating rapidly as we get into the second half of the final season. I want so badly to say more but I won't.

In fact, Walt gets darker and his hands get a lot dirtier than what you've seen so far.

There be no redemption here. "Breaking Bad" is in the same genre as "Heart of Darkness" or
"Apocalypse Now" -- the slow, incremental yet seamless descent into deeper and deeper
levels/layers of madness/evil.
.
There may or may not be redemption for some of the other characters (Jessie has started --
but who knows if Walt will allow it).

Walt is an undeniable train wreck -- it's not IF it's going to happen, but HOW that is so
fascinating.

follows the descent of a basically good man into darkness.

So, I'm not expecting there to be a happy ending to the show.

Walt reminds me of Michael in Godfather I and II (not a fan of Godfather III). In the name of protecting his family, he gains the world but loses his family and his soul.

This is where it all comes to an end. There will be resolution in these final eight. We will know where everybody stands. Gosh, what can I say about it? I’m being very maddeningly vague and general. We are going to swing for the fences in these final eight episodes. It’s terrifying, and yet it’s liberating for me and for the writers to know that these are the final eight hours that we’ll ever have for this series. There’s been talk of a movie and whatnot, but I can tell you that none of that is even remotely on my radar right now. As far as I’m concerned, the end of this story is contained within these final eight episodes. We now have freedom, carte blanche I suppose, to dispense with the timid, pusillanimous storytelling we’ve been doing so far.

We could only watch 2 episodes at a time, they were so nail bitting, edge of our seat, gonna throw up, we could only handle so much. We taped episode 5 and are now watching them...two at a time. Whew...... love it so much, but can only handle so much too.

The producer said it's about how Mr. Chips turns into Scarface.

It's an odd structure for a story and we don't know how it will ultimately turn out but the characters are not clear cut good and bad.
They all have a wide range of characteristics and we see different sides emerge as the story progresses.

It's definitely worth watching but expect to be sitting on the edge of your seat a lot and at not being spoon fed a fairytale view of who are the good guys and who are the bad ones.

I mean the basic premise is always pretty dark, but season 4 is incredible and season 5 is excellent as well.

I felt the same way you do, and did stop watching for a few months around the same point you're at, but I came back and it was definitely worth it. The first 2 seasons are.....almost difficult to watch, but that helps to build up the story for the incredible seasons that follow, particularly season 4.

Crazy music cues and an overall incredible style. It is dark, and it won't end well, but the payoffs are plenty. It's one of the best series ever, period!
