I still can't walk, and the arthritis is messing up my eyes something fierce, but within limits I'm doing okay. I've managed to set up my computer workstation and I'm contemplating starting up at least a limited repair service just to keep myself busy.

I'm just as interested in restarting my photo scanning/restoration gig- that is, if my eyes don't go completely out on me.

UPS is reckless and careless with packages. I ship a lot of boxes through UPS.
They do NOT treat the packages well. Make sure to use plenty of the sytrofoam peanuts or other packing material.
Make sure to buy insurance covering the full coast of the laptop.
Make sure he backs up all his data onto some other disk before sending it.
