It's my 68th birthday, so now I'm in my late 60's. Yesterday, I was in my mid 60's.
time keeps marching on.
ETA: so I had my annual lung cancer screening and was away from the computer, and THANK YOU all!!
results already came back. in spite of my dread lifestyle choice to smoke cigarettes, it appears I'll be around for the next scan at least, at least on the lung part.

(60,022 posts)Happy Birthday! I miss our triangle are DU get togethers we did for that period of time.
I turn 68 on my next, in January. Knee replacement coming in December. My gardening this year confirmed to me that 67 is not 57!
Hoping all is well, and enjoy your big day!

(28,811 posts)Would love to get together again with DUers. Hope your surgery goes well, I had kidney stones removed in January and it kicked my butt for 18 days (google said about 5 days to recover). All good now.
thank you

(10,212 posts)Our choice as we go through life is get older or die. I prefer the former.
I suspect you do too....may you have many more happy years.

(1,644 posts)You are only as young as you feel.
I feel 63 physically and 16 mentally.
Go figure!!!
My wife is 52, so that makes me a late stage pedo or shes a gold digger
Regardless we are totally happy in our respective skins.
Just be happy and have a laugh at your general state every day. It all could change in a heartbeat

What age does your mind tell you, you are? Go with that Barb and commit.

edit, Happy Birthday.
A good friend once told me, "you are every age you have ever been" Pick one you like and be that age. Just don't run any marathons.

(111,110 posts)Scientists will discover that the secret to aging lies in the brain and the thought processes.
The brain can be trained from a very young age to eat right, breathe right, and live the right life, and extend their life expectancies to almost 200 years.
That is, if we have not destroyed the Earth that gives us life.

(28,811 posts)I've been alive IN 8 decades. Don't rush me now!
funny you would say that, because I've always taken it as a point of pride that I had children in 3 different decades - as I like to day, usually only men can make that claim.

(6,150 posts)Yesterday I turned 59-1/2.
I've been waiting for this date all year. It's safe to withdraw from my 401K without penalty. Now I just have to keep my job for 5-1/2 years and then I can collect Medicare, and I will feel truly safe.
Hopefully my body will hold up. That's what really scares me.
