Did anyone else get this feeling from that scene?

(27,677 posts)I watched the "Making of..." video on the AMC website and Jonathan Banks confirmed his run was over except for the possibility of flashback scenes.
I flagged it as a spoiler because I think the episode intended it to be a little ambiguous but I expect the next episode will be open with another body disposal scene.
But yeah, we all thought Ted was dead, so fool me once...

(20,166 posts)between Walt and Gretchen (his old college girlfriend) and why he left Grey Matter?
They've alluded to something happening at Gretchen's parents' house long ago that caused Walt to abruptly leave Gretchen and to leave Grey Matter. I don't think that "something" has ever been revealed, has it?
I also wonder if they're going to give a glimpse into Walt's relationship with his mother. Again, there have been allusions that it's a strained relationship, but nothing concrete has been revealed that I've seen.
Just thinking the final few episodes next year may contain some flashbacks that shed light on these aspects of Walt's past.

(27,677 posts)They could just leave it alone but they could expand more on it. As it is, it plays well. Walter broke up with Gretchen for whatever reason. Some perceived slight to his ego seems likely and he accepted the buy-out that he's resented ever since. More details would help but unless it plays directly into the story it's certainly possible that it will be left alone. (Maybe Walter's planning on using that M60 to shoot up Gray Matter's headquarters.)
