Who else is watching the Weather Channel coverage of the hurricane.

I bet more are watching this then the Republican convention.

Living on the gulf coast hurricane season is a stressful time.

Isaac could have hit the Houston area if the weather had been different.

Hurricane winds produce this howl, you never forget it.

Already got a flood advisory from NOAA for our area from Thursday night thru Friday. TWC's Jim Cantore amazes me!

BUT, have to report this: Being from that Sacred Tomato Valley in N. Calif. it is just normal to check the USGS quake map. Today was unusual, A total of 7 quakes from 4:50 a.m. thru
6:04 a.m.

1.9 at 4:50 a.m. 9 miles from Imperial
1.2 at 5:29 a.m. 27 miles from Santa Rosa
1.8 at 5:30 a.m. 15 miles from El Centro
3.3 at 5:46 a.m. in the Pacific 41 miles from Eureka
1.7 at 6:00 a.m. 7 miles from Calexico
3.5 at 6:01 a.m. 19 miles from Kernville
1.9 at 6:04 a.m. 15 miles from Coso Junction

In my decade plus of checking USGS I had never seen that many "red" markings at one time. Obviously I had to look at each one because it is really not the norm.

So we may be getting drenched in the South, but things are a little shakey on the West.

Groan.
