By James Eng, NBC News
A man wandering around a Delmar, Md., poultry farm in a drunken stupor turned off the power to three chicken houses, causing the deaths of nearly 70,000 chickens, sheriffs officials said.
The property owner who made the grisly discovery found the man, identified as Joshua D. Shelton, 21, of Delmar, Md., passed out on the floor of the power control shed, wearing only a T-shirt and boxer shorts.
This subject was also lying in a pool of his own urine. A strong odor of alcohol was also coming from the subject, Wicomico County sheriffs Lt. Tim Robinson said in a press release.

I disagree. Sounds like someone who is on the bottom of the pecking order.

in 15 minutes after power is lost?

Even if they had a backup generator it wouldn't have mattered if he cut the electrical past the generator transfer switch.

I don't know if this accident was any more cruel than the fate they otherwise would have suffered.

It's an illustration of the conditions in which the animals are 'raised'.

But someone sure as hell did. Come to think of it MFM has been missing for a few days and that whole story about the hospital sounded a bit fishy to me.
