I have spotted a nest in my barn and one in my new garage extension. It's been 15 or 20 years since I had swallows nesting in one of my buildings, and now I have at least 2 pairs!
Whether you call them barn swallows, chimney sweeps, or martins, I love to hear them chatter and dart about. I've missed them.

(25,990 posts)I heard the distinctive call earlier and was rewarded with a glimpse of this one. I havent seen these for awhile, and I hope its a harbinger of good things.

(4,552 posts)We put a bird feeder next to the hummer feeder. Hummers don't like that. The big birds scare them.

(33,467 posts)She was tanking up at one of the feeders my wife puts out. It's hanging very close to one of her weird hanging plants and didn't look like there was much room. The little bird flew between fronds in a kind of zig-zag like it was no problem.

(33,467 posts)I took time yesterday to just sit in the garage for ten minutes, just because they were flying in and out. There's a pond right beside the garage and they swoop around over it.
