This reminds me of when my oldest daughter was 2

We lived in the country and my wife ran the family business/store across the street. When my daughter was over there and my wife let her give pieces of candy to the children that came in. When someone came in with there little child she would get a piece of candy and give it to them and then she would always give them a big hug, She did this with children of all color.

We lived deep in the heart of Mississippi. It was especially neat when she would do thisto a black child when he grandfather - a hard core racist - was in the store.
