Welcome to the DU Lounge Pet Olympics!!!!

Post what sport your pet will be participating in and who they are representing

Representing the Kingdom of Lazydom we have Abbott, a 10 year veteran of the Cat Ball Licking contest. He gets bonus points for being able to reach those empty sacs despite the big tummy on him.

And also a part of the Kingdom of Lazydom is Evita, who is masterful in the art of Hairball Hacking. Not only does she produce some of the largest hairballs imaginable but points to the location where she places those hairballs.

From the wilds of my neighborhood this stray cat represents the few the proud felines who went from a life on the mean streets to sleeping all day and being served by a hairless ape who totes his poo away.

He'll be competing in the lap warming category, adept at hoping into laps unheard until he makes the landing he finds empty laps and heats them up while goading you into petting him.

ONCE she got outside of the house. She looked around for 2 seconds and ran back inside. She knows a good thing when she has it.

He can leap from the coffee table to the top of my very tall entertainment center in a single bound. His older sister Princess kitty will take on LynneSin's Evita in the Hairball Hacking competition. She's had 12 years of practice, and she is very creative in where she places her 'works of art'.

He'll be competing in the 'vertical beanie baby retrieval jump', at which he is the 5-time defending World Champion.

Pics to come.

From Houston via NOLA by way of Katrina, is a shoe in for the gold in the litter tossing, one meter stretch, and purrathon.

He might take the silver in the dog boxing match, this despite having his claws removed. Of course he does have a weight advantage over my Westie and the mutt.

will be a heavy (17.5 lb) favorite in the marathon sleeping event. Curiously, he is also medal-bound in the "Pointless Full Speed Dash for Cats With No Sense of Direction" finals.

She's a strong fielder at second base, nothing gets by her, but the powers that be canned baseball at the Olympics so she's sitting this one out. She's really specular at shortstop and third base, but she can't throw for shit.

YOu could have a gold medal contender there!

I was upset they got rid of baseball. I think it just got difficult because the pros want to play but the Summer Olympics are during the regular baseball season for most countries.

What if they move baseball to the Winter Olympics. I know that seems like an odd choice but you'd just have to have an domed stadium. I mean they can play baseball anytime they want in Toronto thanks to the Skydome!

She thinks it's a stylish chapeau she acquired after rolling a silly French bunny rabbit; war booty.

we have Jasmine -- who sprained her back leg two weeks ago and has adjusted beautifully to "invalid" status which includes free pick-up/carry to the food dish with occasional assist to the top of the cat tree. Being a naturally lazy cat, she sees this as a WIN!

She not only has caught mice but she's caught bats and songbirds too. Oh and all while living indoors. (no my house is not infested with Bats and Songbirds)
