Ed Parker is the one who "Americanized" karate. He was Elvis Presley's instructor and introduced Bruce Lee to the US. The subject line's too short for the full story, But their master was a student of Mr. Pick and the school had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Pick for seminars on a few occasions. They were pretty young at the time and don't remember him, but he carried on in Parker's tradition.

I've got a DVD collection of old Lee films. He was amazing.
