I am watching Route 66 the old tv show, what a cool show.

I don't remember the show, a little to young to have really liked it.

Was the show really popular, I do like the plots on the show.

The guys are nice to look at.

It is on MeTV, not on cable.

IIRC one of the guys in R66 was the senior cop on Adam-12.

I like the car, and traveling around the country.

I like the scenery, most of that is gone now.

Good show.

Good actor and always seems genuine.

There is a bit of the old 66 still in Arizona. West of Flagstaff, north of I-40, west to Kingman. Just two lane blacktop heading into the sunset.

During the filming of Route 66, Milner became concerned about his lack of time spent at home with his young family. He outfitted a Chevrolet Corvair Greenbriar wagon for himself, his wife Judy, his young children (Andrew was not yet born), the family housekeeper and the family dog, so that he could have his home life on the road, and so that his children would have the presence of their father. He was relatively unconcerned about the effect of this nomadic life on Molly and Stuart, who were too young to notice much difference. As for his eldest, Amy, Milner felt that the travel would enhance her ability to make friends wherever she went.

Listen to the dialogue. It's far more complex and intelligent that what you hear on TV today.

I watched it in reruns on Nick at Night during college in the 80s. I loved the clothes and the music. You'll probably see lots of famous stars before they were famous - Barbara Eden, Martin Sheen, Suzanne Pleshette, etc.

The guys just drove around and had jobs for a short time.

I don't know if you could do that now.

I have watched about 8 episodes so far, lots of soon to famous actors.

when you actually had to pass through towns and villages along the way.

Driving somewhere has become a lot like flying there, just closer to the ground.

Brings back memories.
The kid running away.
The face is very familiar, but I can't recall his name.
Ah...a very young Jim Hutton?

I used to also enjoy "77 Sunset Strip," another atmosphere-soaked show from the same era.

MeTV is GREAT...Sunday mornings I always watch Honey West and Laurel & Hardy.

I'm not sure if I just have fond memories of this program
at that time, or if television was better then.

This episode in particular sticks with me:
