Chapel Hill, NC. Severe thunderstorm came up out of nowhere (I watch the radar all day long)
when nothing had been predicted for hours. Lots of times we'll see thunderstorms develop, heading our way,
and they "fall apart" breaking away from the small elevation that is the 'hill' in Chapel Hill. It's weird.

I for one am loving it, I've never loved DC summers and this one has been more brutal than the last.

Just no more direchos please? Wheaton still looks like it was shelled with mortars. Trees and limbs down everywhere still from 2 weeks ago.

But the locals still call it Riverdale. And as far as I can tell, the place is no more of a park than it was before.

My flowers and vegetables have been fine b/c I hand-water them, but it's sweet to have rain again! Nice and cool this morning, too.

Neighbors' rose bushes need some help, may not ONLY be water (insects doing a job on them, too,) but rain should help improve things.

but we've also noticed some wormy-type things, and leaves with holes, and leaves with only veins remaining!
